"A storybook adventure in School Lot"
Activity sheets, answers and a map were provided to people that wanted to explore the Parish Allotment, and we set up a Stick Family story and stations to showcase the Parish Woodland and the newly planted Fruit and Nut trees in the Nuttery and Orchard.
Activity Sheets
On the day of Cartmel Fell Spring Show (Saturday 3rd May 2025, 12pm - 16.30pm) we offered people an opportunity to pick up an activity sheet at the Parish Hall and then take a self-guided walk around the Hodge Hill Allotment (Parish Woodland).
Families and friends all explored the newly-planted Nut and Fruit trees in the Orchard and Nuttery, and enjoyed our "Stick Family" story that was created especially for the Woodland Walk.Â
On the route, we had the stick family activities and we showed off some of the woodland characters that have lived in the woods for a long time. Visitors of all ages could learn something new by estimating the height of a tree using a stick - have a look at Elsie explaining how to do it, below!
Our suggested walk around the woodland takes around 30-45 minutes and is around a mile long, via a figure of 8 route. The route starts at the Parish Hall, and finishes at St Anthony's Church.
