We are fortunate to live in such a photogenic part of the country, and when we capture scenes that really mean something to us, we might take a good photo that's worth sharing!
We'll be running a Photo Exhibition from 24-26 October showing what we love about living in this area at the quarter century.
Photos can be on, or of, Cartmel Fell, Newton Fell and Gummers How and this is open to all to enter.

March 2025
Clare Dyson's film showed her 200 mile journey across Cumbria on her horse Merry. She set off from Cartmel Fell, visiting farmers and ecologists who talk about adapting their work, to prioritise nature and combat climate change whilst they produce food.
We all had a really enjoyable conversation with Clare about her travels and the people she met.

"A storybook adventure in School Lot"
At the Cartmel Fell Spring Show we put together Activity sheets with a quiz, a mapped route through the woodland in a 1 mile figure of 8.
We made a 10-stage story about the Parish woodland characters, sights and sounds you experience as you explore the Parish orchard and woodland.
With the help of Elsie, we also explained how to estimate the height of a tree with a stick.
June 2025
Our inaugural Annual General Meeting where people came to find out about what we're about.
We cooked up a storm with some Gloucester Old Spot, Cumberland, Bratwurst, GF sausages and Not Pork veggie sausages, tried lots of local cider and perry, and some fantastic desserts donated by the community.
July 2024
As one of our first official events as "Cartmel Fell Volunteers", we ran a community barbecue in Summer 2024 to celebrate.
September 2024
We watched a fascinating film in September about how beneficial regenerative farming is to business as well as the environment.
We had the chance to talk to four regenerative farmers about the changes they have made to their farming methods and the benefits it has brought to their livelihoods.
